Swim Goggle Case: Nootca Armor

We chose to offer a more robust goggle case due to the variety of environments your goggles can be subjected to.  My issue is sand.  I’m lucky enough to swim from the beach and there is no getting around tracking sand everywhere once you’re finished for the day.  Sand is no different from the sediment that can collect in the bottom of your backpack or duffel.  Both can provide a perfect opportunity for dirt and grime to collect on your swim goggles. Each scenario leads to the destruction of your goggles clarity and life span.

This case can prolong the life of your goggles.

Inside the case is a soft lining with some water absorption capabilities that will not scratch the lens.  Two air holes allow the moisture to escape.

A big benefit to the case is its size.  It allows for our largest goggle, the 207 and a bike computer or watch to fit inside, while protecting everything. Personally the waterproof outer shell is my favorite feature.  Throw it your bag, on the pool deck, leave on the ground or sandy beach and it stays clean and dry with at wipe.

Nootca Eleven goggle review: Lava Magazine

A review from Lava Magazine: Link

Key phrase in this review that jumped out: "I found that I could see just as well with them as with my larger-framed goggles."

There is a lot more information in this review that reveals real world experience and the thought that goes into designing these goggles.

Swim Goggle Clarity by Nootca

What makes a Nootca goggle different than any other goggle?  Clarity.

The image above is the first Nootca 5 swede lens from the mold during development. The lens was sent to me for approval almost a year ago today.

The main thing to notice in the image is the straight lines of the paper when looking through the sidewall and front window. These lines will give away any distortion in the lens by wavering or becoming unfocused.  It’s this test that can determine the clarity of the swim goggle.  This lens mold went through another round of polishing before it was approved.

We have been told the goggle has panoramic vision.  Whether it’s the Nootca 5, eleven or 207 this is our goal.

Edit:  What does an approved lens look like?

Nootca Silicone Swim Cap

The swim cap was an easy decision for Nootca to add to the line. Next to the goggle, a swim cap is the most common item in a swim bag.  As with all Nootca products the silicon cap started with a new mold and a couple ideas on how to create a better fitting cap.   The biggest issue we wanted to resolve is the feeling that the cap is sliding off as soon as you place the on your head.  Swimming laps, stopping to adjust your cap every few minutes is a perfect way to lose focus.  This has been designed to stay in place until the end of your training with short or long hair.  Read about more benefits on our site: Nootca

Nootca 5 Swedish Goggle

nootca 5 swim goggle - first sketch - prototype - first out of the mold

Our swede goggle is gaining in popularity and with that come questions.  So far one of the biggest questions is how did the goggle get its name.  I have to admit creating a name for any product or company is one of the hardest things I've done, past or present.  Although, that has not been the case with the current goggle line-up.

Nootca 5:
During the design phase I'll sketch out ideas, work out how to manufacture the lens and create a look for the goggle. This may take up to 100 sketches and numerous reworks to get the goggle right. While creating each sketch I will number them and refer back when needed.   On this project the 5th sketch out of 38 was the right starting point - the Nootca 5 was born.
